TikTok Shop charges a referral fee on the item price plus shipping. Its own table says 6% for most categories, while trade guides report 8%. Calculate both.

How TikTok Shop fees work in 2026
- Referral fee = rate x (customer payment + platform discount - tax). The base includes shipping paid by the customer and excludes sales tax.
- TikTok Shop charges no separate payment processing fee for orders placed after April 3, 2023.
- New sellers may get a 3% rate for 30 days after their first sale (not included).
Example
A $40 item with $8 shipping charged, a $10 item cost, $8 actual postage and 7% sales tax: TikTok Shop fees come to $2.88, your payout is $45.12 and your profit is $27.12.
6% or 8%?
TikTok's referral fee table still lists 6% for most categories, 5% for some jewelry and pre-owned items. Several trade guides report that most non-food categories moved to 8% on August 4, 2026; we could not find that on a TikTok page. On the example sale the difference is $2.88 at 6% against $3.84 at 8%. Your settlement report in Seller Center shows the rate you actually paid.
